What Is The Smith Center?
The mission of The Smith Center for The Performing Arts’ is to provide and preserve a high-quality performing arts center embraced by the community and recognized as a vital force by supporting artistic excellence, education, and inspiration for all.
The Smith Center consists of three venues:
- 2,050-seat Reynolds Hall theater
- 240-seat Myron’s club
- 250-seat Troesh Studio Theater
The Hoover Dam and 1920s America inspired the design of The Smith Center. The facility’s signature art piece is in the lobby of Reynolds Hall, which houses a 17-foot bronze statue modeled after the “Winged Figures of the Republic” statues atop the dam.
Reynolds Hall
Reynolds Hall is the venue that people will most likely refer to when they refer to The Smith Center. Reynolds Hall focuses on Broadway, musical, and ballet productions. Past shows hosted at the venue have included Hamilton, Book of Mormon, Kinky Boots, and Wicked–many of which played at The Smith Center during their first national tours.
Reynolds Hall also hosts The Nevada Ballet Theater and The Las Vegas Philharmonic and occasionally hosts individual performers, with the most prominent being John Legend.
Reynolds Hall is well regarded from a design and acoustics perspective.
Myron’s
Myron’s is an intimate club-like venue that hosts musical performers, focusing on individual singers, jazz bands, and more. The small size of Myron’s enables attendees to sit close to a performer, so the performers interact with attendees regularly during performances.
All seating in Myron’s is at low-top and high-top tables with food and beverage that can be ordered via an app. We have found the waiters and waitresses to be extremely friendly and helpful.
Troesh Theater
The Troesh Theater is another intimate venue that hosts various shows such as classical ensemble performances, dramatic plays, family shows, and stand-up comedy.
Popular performances include the Las Vegas Philharmonic’s Spotlight Concert Series, which showcases intimate performances of acclaimed chamber music. The theater has floor and tiered seating.
Fun Fact: The Dee Snyder Room is not actually dedicated to the lead singer of Twisted Sister. It’s a different Dee Snyder.
