Vegas may be America’s playground, but that doesn’t mean all Strip hotels fit the whole family well. With some only allowing guests who are over 21, many Vegas hotels cater specifically to an adult crowd. Still, that doesn’t mean Vegas can’t be kid-friendly.
If you want to vacation in Vegas with your kids, you will want to book your stay somewhere with good fun for both adults and under-21 family members. Check our list of some of the most family-friendly hotels.
5 Family-Friendly Vegas Strip Hotels
The best plan for a family-friendly Vegas vacation would be to stay off the Vegas Strip. However, the Strip is home to countless kid-friendly attractions. The following hotels and activities will help entertain the whole family during your stay.
Mirage Las Vegas
Note: The Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas is undergoing a transformation into the Hard Rock Hotel, which means there might be ongoing construction in the area.
Where else in Vegas can you enjoy the spectacle of an erupting volcano? The Mirage sits right in the center of the Strip, so it has easy access to other resorts and entertainment, but there is plenty to keep guests busy within the hotel itself.
Catch shows like the “Beatles LOVE” by Cirque du Soleil or the Shin Lim: LIMITLESS magic show with family members five years and older. Take a dip in the Mirage’s heated, year-round pools with waterfalls. See popular comedians at Center Stage Comedy. Grab some pizza or fro-yo on the way to your next adventure. The list goes on!
Even in the middle of the action of the Strip, Mirage is one of the more reasonably priced Strip hotels, and they offer suite options.
New York-New York
The New York-New York Hotel & Casino is one of the most fun elements of the Vegas skyline. Modeled after the famous buildings of New York City, with an interior that mimics the streets of New York, the hotel’s unique features are not limited to its design. An outdoor rollercoaster, “The Big Apple,” also loops the building. It’s fun for all ages, as long as riders are above 4’ 6”.
Hershey’s Chocolate World – with free admission and an 800-pound chocolate Statue of Liberty – and the Big Apple Arcade are other big draws for families visiting New York-New York. One of the newest Cirque du Soleil shows, Mad Apple, is also at the hotel, but is best for audience members sixteen years old and up.
Excalibur
With its medieval theme and Disney-like facade, Excalibur has a reputation for being one of the more reasonably priced resorts on the Strip. Excalibur is in the heart of the Strip, right across the street from the New York-New York. The castle hotel has a massive arcade, pools and waterslides, and a king’s entertainment.
The Excalibur’s Tournament of Kings is Vegas’s longest-running dinner show and is fun for the whole family. Experience the excitement of live knight tournaments and root for your favorite champion while enjoying a hearty medieval dinner. The show is 90 minutes and typically runs Thursday through Monday, with two performances each evening.
The Excalibur also sits along the tram line connected to Luxor and Mandalay Bay, giving easy access to other resorts popular among families. Be sure to ask for the “Royal Tower” if you want a room with views of the castle turrets.
Mandalay Bay
Located on the south side of the Strip, Mandalay Bay is set apart from some of the crowds and chaos. If you want to enjoy a beach vacation while visiting the Vegas Strip, Mandalay Bay has the best of both worlds.
With four pools and a beach with real sand, it’s a great place to spend the day in the sun or return to relax after a long day of adventuring. Mandalay Bay boasts a lazy river, wave pool, lagoon, beach, and several beach clubs spread over eleven acres.
Mandalay Bay has several popular family attractions, such as concerts, the Shark Reef Aquarium for all ages (kids four and under are free), and the “Michael Jackson ONE” show by Cirque du Soleil for those five years old and above. It is one of the best hotels on the Strip for families.
Delano and Four Seasons
The Delano and the Four Seasons are other options for families to avoid some Strip crowds. The Delano is an all-suite, non-smoking, non-gambling hotel. It’s smaller than many other hotels on this list, but a stay at the Delano has easy access to many of Mandalay Bay’s amenities, such as entry to the beach area and pools.
Similarly, the Four Seasons is non-smoking and non-gaming. In addition to Mandalay Bay access, they offer kid menus, accommodations like childproofing equipment for guests with babies, and even babysitting services. The “Family for All Seasons” program makes kids feel extra welcome with access to games, books, and other goodies during their stay.
