Before we break down the best taco shops by each section of the Vegas valley, let’s talk about two ubiquitous casual Mexican places with hot and tasty food ready to go, with many open 24 hours a day: Don Tortaco and Roberto’s Taco Shop.
Chances are, if you have driven down any major street anywhere in town, you have driven by a Roberto’s or a Tortaco. And don’t let the fact they are a chain operation keep you away – in our experience, these places are well-run, clean, and, thanks to all the competition, offer affordable prices.
Many even offer salsa bars with an extensive selection and sometimes even spiced carrots!
The Strip
If you visit the Las Vegas Strip, you’ll have no problems satisfying your taco cravings with our below guide. Tacos El Gordo and Tacos El Pastor highlight the options on the Strip, but are certainly not the only options.

Southwest Vegas
Bajamar Seafood and Tacos
The newest location of Bajamar Seafood and Tacos can be found at 8180 Blue Diamond Road, in an unassuming strip mall at Cimarron and Blue Diamond. It is open Monday-Saturday 12 pm to 8 pm, 12 pm to 6 pm on Sundays.
El Luchador Mexican Restaurant + Cantina
After a hike on Exploration Peak, cross the street to Mountain’s Edge Marketplace for a treat at El Luchador Mexican Restaurant + Cantina. Officially located at 7825 Blue Diamond Road (Blue Diamond and Buffalo), El Luchador honors the history of lucha libre wrestling in its name and décor.
It operates from 4 pm to 9 pm on Sunday to Friday and from 12 pm to 9 pm on Saturday.
Street Tacos Al Vapor
Street Tacos Al Vapor is, as the name implies, a place that serves steamed tacos. The former food truck now has two locations in the Valley. The Southwest store is at 6145 West Cactus Ave (Cactus and Jones) and is open 3 pm to 11:30 pm, Tuesday-Sunday.
It is closed on Mondays.
Habaneros Taco Grill
The inaugural Habaneros Taco Grill can be found at the intersection of Fort Apache and Flamingo. At first glance, its exterior might remind you of a Roberto’s. However, Habaneros boasts a classic Mexican fast-food menu, featuring delectable burritos, tortas, and breakfast delights.
We can’t recommend their hard-shelled tacos enough. And before you leave, make sure to indulge in their shredded beef taco. The combination of a crispy taco shell filled with succulent beef and cheese that’s just about to melt is simply irresistible.
With nine Habaneros locations now gracing Las Vegas, it’s clear we’re not the only fans.
The operating hours for this particular spot are from 7 am to 12 am daily, though hours might differ at other branches.
Northwest and North Vegas
Birria Rinconcito Jalisco
Birria Rinconcito Jalisco is located at 2671 Las Vegas Blvd North in North Las Vegas. This highly-rated shop is open four days a week: 9 am to 5 pm Saturday-Sunday, 10 am to 7 pm Thursday-Friday, closed Mon-Wed.
El Norte Taco Shop
El Norte Taco Shop is a family-owned restaurant at 7540 Oso Blanca Road in the Northwest part of the Valley near US 95. The extensive menu starts with street tacos and includes many other Mexican dishes. Open 10 am to 9 pm daily.
Taco Verde and Salsa Bar
Taco Verde and Salsa Bar is a tiny restaurant serving large portions to Northwest locals at 6910 North Hualapai Way (just north of the 215 Beltway and yards from the Hualapai exit). It operates from 10 am to 9 pm daily.
Street Tacos Al Vapor
The North Las Vegas location of Street Tacos Al Vapor is at 330 West Centennial Parkway (Centennial and Commerce, just south of the 215 Beltway).
Henderson
El General Taco Co.
Near the intersection of Stephanie and Wigwam in Henderson is El General Taco Co. (official address: 55 North Stephanie Street). The menu is extensive for those who want more than just tacos. Open 10 am to 9 pm daily.
El Norte Taco Shop
Vitos Tacos is a popular food truck with a restaurant at 7380 South Eastern Ave (Eastern and Warm Springs). Every week, the company website lists the locations where the food trucks will be.
Vitos’ slogan: “Birria everything!” Restaurant hours are Monday-Saturday, 10:30 am to 9 pm, and Sunday, 10:30 am to 8 pm.
Taco Verde and Salsa Bar
Taco Man Grill is another restaurant that started in San Diego and expanded to the Vegas area. Its logo is a luchador wrestler with the slogan “Fighting bad tacos”! The Henderson store can be found at 10100 South Eastern Ave., near the intersection of Eastern and St. Rose Parkway. Hours 8 am to 10 pm daily.
